Summer is here and plans are underway for our annual road trip.
This will be our third major excursion as we map our way across the United States and Canada. Guy and I always get so excited as we start to plan the itinerary. In fact, we seem to be singing Willie Nelson's hit "On the Road Again" quite a bit. This summer, we will be heading out to the Pacific Coast! Plans are to drive across country from New Hampshire with our first destination; Lake Tahoe, which will take us about 3 days to reach. From there we will head over to San Francisco and explore all that this great city has to offer. Of course, we will visit the Nappa Valley where Laura will certainly do some wine tasting. Next we will head up to Redwood National Park and explore the giant Sequoias. We hope to meet up with my dear friend Marit who is hiking the Pacific Coast Trail. We will continue our route through Oregon along the pacific coast line and into Seattle. We plan to do some hiking on Mt. Ranier. We will spend a few days in Vancouver where we will restock and reload. We hope to visit Glacier National Park before heading to our final destination of Banff and Jasper, Alberta in The Canadian Rockies. We will be on the road for 6 weeks and plan to do a lot of hiking along the way. All this is training for our upcoming 1 year RV excursion where we will immerse ourselves in the different regions of the United States. Our goal is to visit every National Park in America. Of Course, a trip is not complete without our Golden Retriever traveling companions...Jubilee, Cashmere and Zeppelin who will add so much to the trip. A special thanks to my sweet daughter Melissa who will be lovingly caring for Jackson and to our dear friend Cindy who will be spoiling Story. We will certainly be missing our grandchildren who fill our lives with joy. We are thankful for modern technology and the ability to Skype along the way.
T
arget date is approaching...RV will be going in for an oil change and "road worthy" check on Monday. A thorough cleaning will take place as "Rhonda" has spent the winter in storage. A trip of this magnitude takes a lot of planning and fine tuning. The countdown begins....come join us and follow our blog for another adventure of a lifetime.
Happy Trails,
Laura and Guy
